The Portuguese (Re)Constitution

Insight

Portugal use to live under a fascist dictatorship, part of which saw blue pencil used to censor art by the fascists.

Idea

On Portugal's "National Freedom Day' turn the blue pencil into a symbol of freedom and expression by getting artists to create illustrations on the old constitution.

Execution

Using the 'blackout poetry' techniqu, several poets and illustrators passed the blue pencil over the constitution until the words highlighted tell a different story.
